LK Advani in Kerala for vacation; CM visits him at airport
Alappuzha/Kochi: Former deputy prime minister and BJP veteran leader L. K. Advani reached Kerala for vacation. He is staying in a villa of Marari Beach Resort at Mararikkulam here. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan visited Advani at Nedumbassery airport.
The seven-member team including Advani and his daughter Pratibha arrived at the resort by 8 pm. The security officers informed that visitors are not encouraged. He will return on September 8 afternoon.
Advani reached Kochi airport by IndiGo flight from Delhi on Monday at 5.40 pm. Meanwhile, Pinarayi Vijayan also landed in Kochi from Kannur by IndiGo flight and visited Advani at VIP lounge. After a 5-minute long meeting, the chief minister left to Ernakulam guest house.
BJP state president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, vice president P. M. Velayudhan, national council member Nedumbassery Ravi, central zone general secretary N. P. Sankarankutty and others welcomed Advani at the airport.
Earlier, Advani had visited Kerala for vacation in 2017 also. He stayed at Kumarakom then and returned after enjoying a house boat ride around the backwater. Tight security has been arranged in the resort and its premises as he is provided Z+ category security.
On his way to the resort at Mararikkulam, Advani took rest at Cherthala police station by 7.30 pm. He reached the station accompanied by a huge security force and spent about 10 minutes there. During his Kerala tour three years ago, he had taken a break at Kuthiyathodu police station in a similar way.
