Thiruvananthapuram: As a result of the depression formed in the Bay of Bengal, light to moderate rain is likely in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Idukki till Saturday, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
Rainfall is likely in Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam till Friday.
Squally winds up to 60 kilometres per hour are likely over southwest Bay of Bengal along and off the Sri Lanka coast, Gulf of Mannar, Kanyakumari area and along and off south Tamil Nadu and Karaikal coasts, the weather department said in its latest forecast bulletin.
The IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into these areas.
