Life Mission project: Subcontract should be disclosed, if any, demands Anil Akkara

If the minutes of the meeting is inspected, the chief minister and the minister for local self-government will have to resign from their posts, the MLA opined.

Thrissur: If there is a subcontract for the Wadakkanchery Life Mission project, the government should reveal the same, demanded MLA Anil Akkara. They should also make it clear if verbal permission was granted. Minister A C Moideen did benami transactions and he is fully responsible for the irregularities, Anil alleged.

"The Life Mission also should clarify if there is a subcontract. When I inquired, the concerned authorities of Life Mission stated that there was no subcontract. Then they should make it clear who prepared the estimate, who granted permission and who handed over the land. It was all done by A C Moideen," Anil Akkara alleged.

Rs 3 crore was transferred to the account of Unitac Builders on the second day of signing the agreement. It was signed on July 30, 2019. If the minutes of the meeting is inspected, the chief minister and the minister for local self-government will have to resign from their posts, the MLA opined.

The CEO of Life Mission did not even send a letter. He was fully aware of the rule violation in the deal. Venu, who was in charge of the Rebuild Kerala mission also was aware of the matter, but he too refrained from taking further action regarding this issue, Anil Akkara said.
