Thiruvananthapuram: The CBI has made shocking revelations in connection with the Life Mission project. The CBI stated in court that the Life Mission project is linked with the underworld. CBI also said that M Sivasankar hijacked the MoU that was signed between Life Mission and Red Crescent.
Sivasankar called Life Mission CEO UV Jose and an officer named Geethu into his office. That was when UV Jose came to know about the contract. CBI stated that they cannot say whether UV Jose would be an accused or if Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would be a witness in the case.
The CBI revealed that they were not sure whether the UAE consulate’s money came from Red Crescent. Unitac received the money from the consulate’s account and not from Red Crescent. CBI further demanded that there should be an investigation into the contract signed between Unitac and UAE Consulate General.
So far, there has been no evidence to suggest that the UAE consulate received money from Red Crescent. Unitac was not brought into this contract on the basis of tender procedure. 40 percent commission was handed over in this project. CBI said that the Consulate General received 20 percent commission and Swapna Suresh received 10 percent commission.
Unitac approached Sandeep Nair first in connection with the project. Later, they met Sarith and Swapna. All three of them have been arrested in connection with the gold smuggling case. Quoting Unitac owner, Santhosh Eappen, CBI stated that Swapna Suresh asked him to contact M Sivasankar to discuss matters relating to corruption in the project.
As part of this, Santhosh Eappen visited Sivasankar’s office. That was when Sivasankar called UV Jose and Geethu to his office and they met each other. That was when the Life Mission CEO came to know about such a contract.
The CBI stated that there are several mysteries about the contract and that a huge scam has taken place.
