New Delhi: M Sivasankar, the former principal secretary of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, approached Supreme Court on Tuesday requesting interim bail in the LIFE Mission bribery case.
The lawyer representing the retired Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer submitted a letter before the registrar requesting the court to grant interim bail on medical grounds.
Sivasankar has been serving time in jail following his arrest in the LIFE Mission bribery case. He claimed that he had been facing severe health issues for the past some time.
According to Sivasankar, his arrest is politically motivated and targets Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family. He also alleged that Enforcement Directorate (ED) had forced him to issue a statement against the Chief Minister in Gold Smuggling Case.
