Arya Rajendran
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM has decided to organise a counter-campaign to defend the protests against Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran over the alleged controversial letter written to CPM district secretary Anavoor Nagappan. The decision to conduct a counter-campaign was adopted at a meeting held under state secretary MV Govindan on Saturday. The district secretariat informed that the protests of Congress and BJP will be resisted politically.
The campaign programmes will be scheduled after the LDF march against Raj Bhavan scheduled on November 15. The district secretariat has resolved not to initiate a party-level probe into the letter controversy as of now. The probe has been extended by citing that it may affect the normal functioning of the corporation.
Meanwhile, several party members also called for immediate action to resist the fake campaigns against the mayor and corporation.
