Kottayam: CPM state secretary MV Govindan here on Saturday said that the party has not denied anyone permission to take legal action against the allegations levelled by Swapna Suresh, the main accused in the gold smuggling case.

“I stand by my decision to file a case on the allegations levelled against me. The party has permitted Thomas Isaac and Kadakampally Surendran to take legal action on the allegations against them. Let them file cases. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has better things to do than filing defamation cases,” Govindan told the media in Kottayam.

“All the allegations levelled by Swapna Suresh are political in nature. They are not serious. The truth will come out no matter who hides it. I stand firm in my decision to go for legal action against the allegations,” he said.

Further, Govindan opined that the allegations levelled against Isaac and Surendran were not serious and the party has permitted them to go ahead with legal action.
