League wants polls to be held on time
Malappuram: Muslim League leader and minister P K Kunhalikutty wanted the local body polls to be conducted on time. He said this at a high-panel meet of League leaders held at Panakkad here on Friday.
The party feels that the polls must be held on time as it is the necessity of the common people. The party is of the stand that the polls should not be delayed even if the Election Commission takes a different approach. It is up to the govt and the EC to take a final decision. Regarding this, talks would be held on August 24 and a final decision taken.
There would be a collective decision on this irrespective of the League and the Congress taking a different approach.
The state government will not go in for an appeal against this verdict and there is no time.
