Kochi: Uma Thomas thanked the Congress party for considering her to contest the Thrikkakara byelection. She started the campaign stating that LDF will not touch the magic number 100 in the state Assembly.

‘The people who voted for PT Thomas will also vote for me,’ she said.

Uma added that she will uphold the legacy of PT Thomas. ‘I want to complete the development projects initiated by PT Thomas. Though I initially refused the candidature, I felt I shall not deny the request of the party which supported me after Thomas died,’ she added.

AICC on Tuesday announced the candidature of Uma Thomas. KPCC had recommended only one name.
