Thiruvananthapuram: LDF and UDF won nine seats each in the by-election to 19 local body wards across nine districts in Kerala.
Meanwhile, BJP managed to win the sitting seat of LDF.
The by-election took place in two corporations, two municipalities, and fifteen grama panchayats, involving seats previously held by different parties. The LDF held nine seats, the UDF held seven seats, the BJP held two seats, and the Kerala Janapaksham held one seat.
Thiruvananthapuram District
LDF retained its sitting seat in Muttada, and UDF retained its seat in Canara, Pazhayakunnummel grama panchayat.
Kollam District
LDF won the sitting seat of BJP in Thazhamel, Anchal Grama Panchayat.
Alappuzha District
LDF retained its seat in Municipal Office, Cherthala Municipal Council.
Kottayam District
UDF retained their sitting seat in Puthenthodu; LDF retained their seat in Mukkada, Manimala Panchayat. Meanwhile, LDF won the seat held by Kerala Janapaksham in Perunilam, Poonjar Gramapanchayat.
Ernakulam District
CPM won the sitting seat of BJP in Nellukuzhi Panchayath.
Palakkad District
UDF retained their seat in Bemmannur, Peringottukurissi Grama Panchayat. UDF won the sitting seat of LDF in Parayambalam, Muthalamada Panchayat.
LDF retained their seat in Akaloor East in Lakkidi-Perur Grama Panchayat.; BJP won the sitting seat of LDF in Kallamala, Kanhirapuzha Grama Panchayat. UDF retained their seat in Kappadam, Karimba Grama Panchayat.
Kozhikode District
UDF retained their sitting seat in Cheliya Town, Chengottukavu Grama Panchayath; CPM bagged the sitting seat of UDF in Kanalad, Puthuppady Grama Panchayat; LDF retained their sitting seat in Velom Grama Panchayat.
Kannur District
UDF retained their sitting seat in Pallipram, Kannur Municipal Corporation; Congress won the sitting seat of LDF in Kakkoni, Cheruthazham Grama Panchayat.
