Thiruvananthapuram: The protest gathering announced by the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) against Kerala governor Arif Mohammed Khan will have a non-political face by terming it a move to 'safeguard the educational sector' in Kerala.

On Sunday, a new committee, ‘Vidyabhyasa Samrakshana Koottayma’ (education protection council), was formed under Left fellow-traveller Dr B Ekbal and was entrusted with the organisation of the event.

By holding the march, LDF is planning to make the public aware of the policies of the Kerala Governor. CPM had earlier called the Khan's motives "a bid to implement Sangh Parivar agenda in Kerala's education sector.” Therefore, LDF believes the march should have a non-political face.

CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury will inaugurate the protest march on November 15. Further, party leaders of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will also take part in the march.

Besides the march to Raj Bhavan, a public meeting and a massive public rally will be organised with the support of various organisations and public figures.
