Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan stated that LDF has not held any discussion with the Jose K Mani faction. He stated that LDF’s approach to them will be based on the political stance that they take.
Jose K Mani faction has not conveyed any interest in joining LDF. They have not revealed what their political approach would be. It will only be clear in the coming days. LDF’s attitude towards Jose K Mani led Kerala Congress (M) will depend on what position they take in the coming days, the CPM leader said.
Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had stated the other day that Kerala Congress (M) is a party supported by the public. In response to that, Jose K Mani said that he is happy about the left front’s reaction and that an appropriate decision will be taken at the right time.
Though the UDF has softened the outing of Jose K Mani faction to ban on attending meetings of the front, the Kerala Congress is in no hurry to decide on their future.
Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that after Kerala Congress (M) clarifies their stance, the CPM and LDF will discuss and decide what to do. The same decision was taken by the party secretariat also.
“The UDF is in a crisis. CPM has no responsibility to help UDF in such a situation. As a party, the CPM would try to intensify the crisis in UDF. To that extent, the party has decided to take appropriate action when an opportunity presents itself. The CPM is observing their political stance,” Kodiyeri Balakrishnan added.
He added that the CPM is planning to work with individuals and political parties that will help defeat both the Congress and the BJP in the local body polls.
