Kochi: NCP state president T P Peethambaran stated that there is no need to create dispute over Pala assembly seat. The LDF follows the policy to field the allies in the sitting seats. NCP has not raised any issue regarding the seat and there is no question of compromise, he said.
No discussion was held with the UDF. According to the LDF policy, the winning party is fielded in the sitting seat. So, NCP will contest from Pala as it is our sitting seat. Nobody will hand over their sitting seat, he stated.
When asked about the difference of opinion in NCP, he replied that it is common as it is a democratic party. NCP is a national party. So, we will follow the decision of national leadership when there are disputes. We will take next steps according to that, he added.
Kerala Congress (M) had claimed that they had asked for Pala seat while joining LDF and the leaders had agreed to this. However, the LDF did not confirm this. T P Peethambaran said that the LDF does not share seat for assembly seats based on local body poll results. He added that NCP has already expressed their disagreement in handing over the Pala seat.
