Thiruvananthapuram: Newly-elected LDF convenor EP Jayarajan's statement hinting at a positive approach towards inducting IUML into the ruling front is just a personal opinion of the CPM leader, said CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran. He added that the matter is not discussed in LDF.

Meanwhile, CPM politburo member A Vijayaraghavan said that the party has not changed its position on the matter. His answer to the question of media persons was twisted as invitation. It is not a big deal, he added.

EP has made it clear that expanding LDF is a key agenda of him. He hinted that even IUML will be welcomed if they distance themselves from the policies of the UDF. There are disgruntled leaders in the Muslim League, Jayarajan had said. He also said that the RSP too shall rethink its alliances.

However, Jayarajan on Thursday clarified that his statement was not an invitation for IUML. However, he added that PK Kunhalikutty is a kingmaker and Congress will be shaken without IUML.
