Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran opined that the Left Front failed to foresee the response of the devotes over implementation of Supreme Court verdict in the women entry issue to Sabarimala Ayyappa temple.
“LDF can’t place the said faith above constitution. The defeat in the Lok Sabha elections will be scrutinized and necessary changes will be made,” Kannam told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram.
The government is liable to implement the Supreme Court verdict as per constitution. LDF couldn’t foresee the after effects of implementing such a verdict in the larger society.
He also criticized Minister for Culture A K Balan’s statement over the cartoon award controversy. No changes can be made to the decided award. No minister can intervene in the issue. "Will any film award be changed just because someone opined differently," he asked.
