Thiruvananthapuram: A group of lawyers staged a protest in front of Pettah Police Station and blockaded the road on Friday morning.

Harikrishnan and Aravind, two lawyers at Vanchiyoor Court, travelling on a scooter from Kazhakoottam, were outraged when a car repeatedly honked before trying to overtake their vehicle.

The lawyers allegedly made an obscene gesture at the car driver Anoop and his wife. Furious with their behaviour, Anoop blocked the road. Following this, a verbal feud ensued between them.

Later, the lawyers filed a complaint before the Pettah police against Anoop for murder attempt and verbal abuse. Anoop and his wife also filed a similar complaint later. Police let the couple leave after registering a case against both parties. After learning this, the lawyers arrived at the spot and blocked the road. Later, the lawyers ended the protest after senior police officials mediated.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that the lawyers attacked a passerby who tried to take a photo of the blockade in front of the police station. Further, media personnel were attacked by the lawyers at the station.
