Lathi charge on MLA: CPI demands action against more officers
Thiruvananthapuram: In connection with the incident in which MLA Eldho Abraham was injured in police lathi charge, CPI has demanded action against more officers. CPI district secretary P. Raju demanded that Njarakkal CI should be suspended. He added that CPI leadership will send letter to the chief minister in this regard.
CPI district leadership is irked for restricting the action against the SI only. The conflict had occurred during the march demanding suspension of the CI. So, they want the CI to be suspended and this will be mentioned in the letter to the chief minister and CPM state leadership.
CPI is firm on their stand that the issue cannot be settled with the action against only the SI. The district leadership alleged that the delay in taking action against police was a lapse on the part of the state leadership and this has tarnished the image of CPI in the district.
