Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet meeting held here today did not consider the demands of the job candidates who conduct protest in front of the secretariat. The meeting decided not to extend the last grade rank list. No discussion to make a consensus was held at the cabinet meeting. But the chief minister directed to examine the regularization of temporary staff.
More temporary employees were regularized on Monday. The cabinet meeting decided to regularize the staff who have completed 10 years in tourism department and other sections. Earlier, the validity of current rank lists was extended for 6 months. The cabinet decided that no action can be taken regarding the expired rank lists.
The cabinet directed to examine if any regularization has taken place to any posts which are normally filled by the PSC. The chief minister also directed to ensure that the posts in which temporary staff are appointed do not come under the PSC. No such appointments should be done, the chief minister asked the department heads. Next cabinet meet will be held on Wednesday.
