Large aircrafts in Karipur still remain a promise
Karipur: The promises made by the authorities on starting service of large aircrafts in Karipur International Airport failed to take off. The Airport Authority has promised the parliamentarians that large aircrafts will land in Kozhikode by July 31 and it was declared in a press meet conducted by P. K. Kunhalikutty MP.
Meanwhile, the Airport Authority has filed a report seeking more facilities for flight landing. The authority said that mid-sized aircrafts shall be granted permission only by the end of September. It is indicated that this will be finalised only after the inauguration of Kannur airport.
As per the economic survey staged by the authority, Kannur airport will not affect the Karipur airport by any means. Meantime, a large aircraft of the Air Force landed in Karipur the other day. There are allegations that the report against large aircrafts was filed only to deny permission to Saudi Airlines.
