Landslide in Karnataka kills 3 Malayali labourers; one hospitalised

Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, three Malayali labourers were killed in a landslide at Bantwal near Karnataka’s Mangaluru on Wednesday. One Malayali labourer who survived with injuries has been hospitalised.

The incident happened during night. The mud slid over the house where the labourers were staying. They were stuck inside the damaged house and it took hours to recover the bodies and even rescue the sole survivor.

The deceased has been identified as Palakkad native Biju (45), Alappuzha native Santhosh (46) and Kottayam native Babu (46). Kannur native Johny (44) was hospitalised. All were engaged in rubber tapping work.
