Munnar: Rain wreaked havoc in Munnar again as another landslide hit the area near Botanical Garden on the Munnar-Devikulam road. Traffic along this route has been affected. Debris is being removed from the spot. This is the fourth landslide in this area within the last two days.

The district collector had imposed restrictions on traffic via the old Munnar route due to repeated landslides in the area. Instead, it was instructed that vehicles go through Kunjithanny and Rajakkad regions towards the Bodimettu side.

Although small, landslides have turned into a common occurrence in these areas, affecting the lives of people there. Heavy rains continue to torment Kerala and alerts have been issued in various districts across the state. Another landslide hit Adimali-Kumily Highway, disrupting the traffic along this route.
