'Kuttanad seat for sale' says flex board raised in Kochi ahead of NCP meet

Earlier, LDF decided that Kuttanad seat should be given to NCP.

Kochi: Flex boards were raised in the city alleging that the National Congress Party is trying to sell its Kuttanad constituency seat. This is ahead of the party’s leadership meeting that is scheduled to take place on Thursday to determine the candidate. Similar flex boards have been raised in front of the hotel where the meeting will take place.

The flex board also alleged that apart from the Kuttanad seat, NCP is also trying to sell all the other positions given by the Left Democratic Front. The boards placed by ‘Yuvajana Vedi’ (Youth Association), claims that positions in Guruvayur Devaswom board, KSFE and PSC are all for sale.

Earlier, LDF decided that Kuttanad seat should be given to NCP. It is on this basis that NCP leadership decided to hold the leadership meeting as soon as possible.

Thomas Chandy’s brother, Thomas K Thomas was the first person to be considered for the seat. However, this was opposed from within the party. Salim P Mathew and Sulfikkar Mayuri’s names were also tossed up in the discussion.
