Malappuram: Muslim League MP PK Kunhalikutty has criticized the Kerala Budget presented by Finance minister Thomas Isaac on Friday. He stated that apart from the speech of the finance minister, there was nothing else in the budget after accumulating a debt of Rs 3.5 lakh crore.
Kunhalikutty stated that listening to Thomas Isaac’s budget, one might think that this is a budget presented by a recently elected government. The public has been burdened by the debt, there are no jobs, IT sector has been destroyed. The same is the case with the agricultural sector as well. The government does not have any achievement of its own. The UDF, during its tenure, used to point out its achievements each year.
This is a regime that will send the public into a severe economic crisis. The budget is not appropriate for the demands of the state. UDF will make its approach clear in the election manifesto. UDF will present a manifesto that will bring money to the public, he added.
The Muslim League MP also stated that the government can escape once by distributing food kits to the public during the pandemic. However, the public in Kerala will not be satisfied with kits all the time, they need employment and wealth as well, he added.
