Kummanam slams govt move to allow reopening of bars
Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan said Saturday that the government move to allow the reopening of bars in Panchayats having a population of over 10,000, will result in the situation of the "State drowning in liquor."
Kummanam said that the LDF took this decision to reciprocate the help received from bar owners during the last elections.
"Biju Ramesh's disclosure that Kodiyeri Balakrishnan asked him to make allegations against KM Mani in connection with the bar bribery case should be seen in this context. The Pinarayi Vijayan government took charge after promising schools are going to be opened and not bars. The LDF should apologize for cheating people by making false promises. It has been proved that the LDF is indebted to the bar owners and not to the future generations. The LDF should withdraw its move to open bars all over the state in the name of Supreme Court verdict," Kummanam said.
Meanwhile, the BJP filed a police complaint against those who allegedly spread false news about BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan, O Rajagopal MLA, K Surendran, Sashikala Teacher and Janam TV.
The complaint has been filed against those who allegedly unleashed false propaganda that Janam TV reported that the BJP is intervening for the release of Govindachamy, who is undergoing imprisonment in Soumya case.
