Kummanam Rajasekharan supports private bill by N K Premachandran
Thiruvananthapuram: BJP leader Kummanam Rajasekharan has supported the private bill introduced by United Democratic Front (UDF) MP N. K. Premachandran.
Speaking to Mathrubhumi News, Kummanam Rajasekharan said there was no need to view the bill politically and that its interest was not against Sabarimala.
The bill is the BJP’s stand in the Sabarimala issue, Kummanam Rajasekharan said and added that the BJP organised protests to safeguard customs.
The bill, introduced by Premachandran wanted to maintain in the area status quo that was existing before September 1. The bill was named Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha temple (special provision) bill 2019.
The bill aims to prevent the violation of customs that happened at Sabarimala due to entry of women and maintain status quo. It was the first private bill in the 17th Lok Sabha.
Kodikunnil Suresh clarified that the UDF will support the private bill introduced by N. K. Premachandran.
