Kannur: Kudumbashree earned a profit of Rs 1.27 crore on the day of polling in Kerala by supplying food six times including bed coffee. Kudumbashree was arranged to provide food to the polling officials for 2 days at polling booths and distribution centres. Food was supplied to 6290 polling stations in 13 districts of Kerala and also to 98 distribution centres. As many as 98 units of Kudumbashree functioned.
Except Ernakulam, Kudumbashree supplied food to all districts on April 22 and April 23. Green protocol was obeyed and only steel plates and steel tumblers were used. The revenue earned was mostly from Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod. In Kasaragod, 996 polling stations and 2 distribution centres were supplied with food by Kudumbashree and collected Rs 27 lakh. In Thiruvananthapuram, food was supplied to 1025 polling centres and Rs 25 lakh was collected. In Alappuzha, only Rs 6000 was collected.
The food was prepared from Kudumbashree hotels and catering units and the distribution was overseen by DDS members of that particular locality.
In Kollam Kudumbashree earned Rs 6.53 lakh, Pathanamthitta Rs 3.34 lakh, Kottayam Rs 20 lakh, Idukki Rs 15 lakh, Thrissur Rs 9.53 lakh, Palakkad Rs 8.80 lakh, Malappuram Rs 3.59 lakh, Kozhikode Rs 1.32 lakh, Wayanad Rs 2 lakh and in Kannur Rs 5.30 lakh.
