Thiruvananthapuram: Minister KT Jaleel reached his official residence in Thiruvananthapuram despite the strong protests from youth organisations of the opposition parties. The minister had to face strong protests throughout his journey to Thiruvananthapuram.
The protestors tried to stop the minister’s convoy near Parippaly in Kollam by parking a vehicle across the road. Meanwhile, some protestors waved black flags against the minister and threw rotten eggs at the car. Hence, the police had to resort to lathi-charge against the protestors.
Youth organisations waved black flags against the minister near Attingal, Mangalapuram and Kazhakuttam. The minister had to face similar protests while traveling through Kollam and Alappuzha district as well.
When KT Jaleel reached his official residence late at night, the Youth Congress and Yuva Morcha activists had already gathered there. Police arrested and removed the Yuva Morcha activists. However, shortly after this, another group of Yuva Morcha activists reached the spot. Youth Congress workers protested in front of the minister’s residence late at night.
