Thiruvananthapuram: KT Jaleel MLA has filed a complaint against Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in Gold Smuggling Case, for levelling false allegations against him. In the complaint lodged before the Cantonment Police, he claimed that BJP is engaged in false propaganda to overthrow the state government.
Earlier, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held a meeting with State Police Chief Anil Kant concerning the allegations levelled by Swapna Suresh. The move from KT Jaleel to file a complaint came minutes after the meeting ended in Thiruvananthapuram. Jaleel said that Swapna Suresh is levelling politically motivated and baseless allegations against Chief Minister, his family and on a personal level against him.
He also alleged that PC George had hatched a plan to topple the government by levelling false allegations. Voice clips of PC George devising plans against the government had recently come out through TV channels. PC George was conspiring against the government and was devising a detailed plan to do so, he added.
Jaleel also pointed out there were efforts to cause unrest in the state following the allegation raised by Swapna.
