KSU stages protest at Kerala university headquarters, blocks VC
Thiruvananthapuram: In connection with the University College stabbing case, Kerala Students Union (KSU) staged a protest at the University of Kerala headquarters.
The KSU workers conducted a march to the university headquarters and blocked the vice chancellor (VC). Also six KSU workers climbed on top of the university building and threatened to commit suicide by jumping down.
KSU intensified their protest after the discussions held with the VC failed. They alleged that the vice chancellor was acting in favour of the SFI due to political influence. The KSU workers climbed on top of the building threatening that they would jump down, if discussions with the VC failed. Later, police officials pacified and brought them down to safety.
KSU staged the protest demanding action against the perpetrators in the recent violent incidents and irregularities in conducting examinations in University College, seeking the expulsion of principal and demanding permission for other student organisations to function within the campus.
