Pathanamthitta: KSRTC is all set to launch its trending tourist services in the Pathanamthitta district too. A one-day journey to Vagamon via Gavi, Vandiperiyar and Parunthumpara will soon kick start from the KSRTC terminal in Pathanamthitta on Sunday.
The service to Vagamon has been scheduled apart from Pathanamthitta- Gavi- Kumali ordinary service. The new service will be conducted by ordinary buses with 36 seats and the trip will cost Rs 700 for a person. It includes entry fees of Rs 100 paid for the forest department.
Three to five buses will be deployed from Pathanamthitta for Vagamon service upon demand. The bus will halt at the points where the passengers request sightseeing. The journey that begins at 6 am will return by night via Mundakayam. Pathanamthitta DTO Thomas Mathew informed that the service will be rolled out after obtaining permission from the forest department.
People far from Pathanamthitta can stay at the KSRTC terminal if they reach here the previous night for the trip. It has been decided to set up accommodation facilities with 150 beds for such passengers in the terminal. The facilities will be available within one and a half months and the passengers have to pay a moderate fee for availing of the service.
Kudumbashree cafe and pay and park service will also start functioning in the KSRTC terminal.
