KSRTC to ply 60 pc services on weekends

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) informed that it will operate services on Saturdays and Sundays where a lockdown-like situation was announced due to the rapid increase in the Covid infections. Sixty percent of services will be conducted on these days and long distance and short distance buses will be regulated depending on the passenger traffic.

KSRTC will operate buses to take students to the examination centres and will also conduct services to airports, railway stations and hospitals, said CMD Biju Prabhakar. Workers from the operating section will be given leave on another day.

The Kerala government announced that weekend restrictions will be implemented in the state, similar to lockdown, and only emergency travel will be allowed.
