Ettumanoor: A complaint has been filed against KSRTC Swift bus staff for allegedly assaulting an auto-rickshaw driver at Edachira junction in MC Road on Friday. Ettumanoor Police registered a case based upon the complaint filed by the auto driver Kaduthuruthy native Emmanuel (27).
The incident happened on Friday afternoon when Emmanuel and his friend were travelling to Kottayam to repair a mobile phone. The KSRTC bus is said to have hit the rear of their auto-rickshaw when the latter tried to overtake the bus at the junction.
According to the complainant, they resumed the journey but were stopped midway after the KSRTC bus overtook their vehicle and obstructed the road. It is alleged that the staff of the KSRTC bus assaulted Emmanuel.
Meanwhile, the police have gathered the CCTV footage from the area. The Swift bus was headed to Aroor. Meanwhile, Emmanuel is admitted to Kottayam Medical College with injuries.
