Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC has decided to stop issuing students concession for those above 25 years of age.
The students of government, aided and professional colleges whose parents come under income tax, GST and claim Input Tax Credit will not get any concession hereafter. Students studying in self financing colleges, unaided colleges and recognised schools will get only 30 per cent concession from KSRTC.
Students who pursue regular courses will have to prove their age under 25 to secure concession for travelling.
KSRTC managing director’s latest guidelines stops concession offered to pensioners who are studying.
Meanwhile, the concessions provided to BPL students in self financing colleges and aided colleges will continue.
The currently available concessions will continue for students up to Plus Two in government and aided schools, students of special schools, and for the centres which offer skill development courses for the differently abled students.
