Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Road Transport Corporation on Thursday said that employees would get their salary in instalments from next month onwards. The first payment would be made on the fifth of every month. The rest of the amount would be distributed upon receiving the grant from the government, said Biju Prabhakar, the MD of KSRTC.

The order also states that those who want salary in one instalment should inform the corporation in writing before February 25. They will be credited only after receiving the grant from the government.

The High Court had told the corporation that it was better to close down than to run without paying salaries. The court had earlier ordered salaries to be paid by the fifth of every month. However, KSRTC management could not implement it.

In the latest hearing, KSRTC told the court that the salary would be distributed before Wednesday. It took an overdraft from SBI for the same.
