Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC Employees Association (CITU) slammed the management and Minister Antony Raju for raising baseless claims over the financial crisis and glitches in salary distribution in the affidavit filed in the Kerala High Court. CITU condemned the minister's remarks that the employees have agreed with the corporation’s decision on the salary distribution in instalments.
KSRTC staff are working wholeheartedly to improve the revenue of the institution. Though the routes of KSRTC were allocated to K-SWIFT and the fuel price hiked, KSRTC could achieve a rise in revenue. In spite of this, the management informed the High Court that it has no funds to dispense salaries, pointed out the association.
KSRTC obtained a revenue of Rs 296.5 crore in December and Rs 241.9 crore in January. Rs 93.1 crore and Rs 92.92 crore were required to distribute salaries in these two months. Even then, the salary distribution was disrupted and it was not because the management ran out of funds.
