Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC requires additional Rs 30 crore to distribute salaries for the month of May completely. The salaries were distributed only for drivers and conductors with the help of an overdraft worth Rs 50 crore received and Rs 4 crore collected from the daily revenue of KSRTC.
The state government had granted an additional Rs 20 crore in two installments for the corporation during the last month. KSRTC had overcome the crisis to dispense the salary of April with the aid of Rs 50 crore issued by the government.
KSRTC has requested Rs 35 crore more from the government to give away the salary. However, the government has not responded in this regard.
Minister of Transport Antony Raju has summoned a meeting on June 27 in view of the indefinite strike declared by the KSRTC employee's unions.
