Kochi: KSRTC has joined hands with hotels to provide food and refreshments for travellers during long route services. The project ‘KSRTC Refresh’ will provide food and refreshments during long trips. KSRTC had earlier decided to hold services of long route buses with the name ‘Bypass Rider’.
The refresh facility is being arranged in restaurants near Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode bypasses. Letters of interest are being invited from restaurant owners for this purpose.
Presently, the buses stop next to the restaurants familiar to the KSRTC employees. Restaurants and petrol pumps are relied upon for fulfilling other primary needs. Few places charge money for this too.
It is believed that special consideration will be given to travellers with the arrangement of refresh centres. The time spent for eating and fulfilling other primary needs can also be saved. Letters of Interest from restaurants are being accepted till August 2. The project will be started soon.
