Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation has redeployed its staff to the district offices as part of the reforms. As per the new order issued on Wednesday, only 15 district offices will be operational in the state.
KSRTC has issued the new order as implementing the reforms based on the Sushil Khanna committee report.
167 superintendents, 720 assistants, 47 typists, and 129 attenders were redeployed. The operation of the revised district offices will commence on July 18. With this, KSRTC will have only 18 district administrative offices in the state.
The KSRTC management has been facing trouble to supervise the activities and implement computerisation as the offices are situated at multiple locations. By cutting the number of district offices, these issues will be resolved.
Hence, depot offices will be asked to handle service operations and emergency maintenance with the implementation of the reforms. The ministerial department will not be operational in depots.
