Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC has officially banned playing loud music on the mobile phone speaker and speaking loudly over the phone while travelling in the buses. The public transport firm has released a press release on Saturday announcing the restrictions on mobile phone usage. The move comes on the back of rampant complaints, it said.

Many people have been talking loudly over the phone and playing music or watching videos in high volume as disturbing fellow passengers. Similarly, some use other electronic devices in such a way that it disturbs others.

According to KSRTC, imposing restrictions on mobile phone usage could ensure the interests of all travellers. KSRTC informed that the decision was taken to offer safe travel devoid of unhealthy and inconvenient ambience inside the bus.

The restrictions will be listed and exhibited inside the bus. Likewise, the bus conductors are advised to resolve issues over such matters in a cordial manner.
