KSRTC dismisses driver over death of two bike passengers in Palakkad

driver arrest

Thiruvananthapuram: The KSRTC driver, who was held responsible for the death of two bike riders at Kuzhalmannam, was dismissed from the service on Wednesday. The action was taken against CL Ousep, a driver at the KSRTC Vadakkanchery operating centre.

On February 7, 2022, two bikers were killed in an accident at Kuzhalmannam after their bike rammed into the KSRTC bus plying from Palakkad to Vadakkancherry. Following the incident, KSRTC launched a probe and found that the driver's fault led to the incident.

Following this, Ousep was suspended from service on February 10, 2022. Further, Ousep has previously been involved in similar accidents. The action is based on the assessment that more human lives will be harmed if he continues service in KSRTC.
