KSRTC buses to stay off roads on Monday, likely to operate limited services as per demand
Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC will not operate bus services in the normal manner on Monday due to the statewide hartal which was declared in solidarity with the Bharat Bandh. At the same time, KSRTC managing director informed that if there is any exigency, a few buses will be operated as per the demand.
According to the press release issued by KSRTC’s managing director, there will not be normal operation of bus services due to the absence of employees and a low number of commuters.
If there is any exigency, local services will be operated in a limited manner on major routes. From 6 AM to 6 PM, each unit will operate services by considering passengers to hospitals, railway stations and airports within its span. Police vehicles will escort the buses.
All types of services, including long-distance services, will begin after 6 PM on Monday. The MD has also informed that if the number of commuters turns high, long-distance services will be operated. Buses and employees are also arranged in units for this purpose.
