Chirayinkeezhu: A KSRTC bus caught fire while conducting service in Azhoor on Tuesday. Fortunately, the timely intervention of the driver to evacuate all passengers averted a major tragedy.

The incident happened when the bus bound for Thiruvananthapuram reached Azhoor. The driver stopped the bus and evacuated the passengers after noticing smoke billowing from the engine.

The bus went up in flames soon after all passengers deboarded the bus. Later, two fire force units arrived at the spot and doused the fire. Around 30 passengers were present on the bus when the accident happened.
