KSRTC bus, Jamaludheen

Mananthavady: A KSRTC bus driver, Jamaludheen, was hailed as a hero after he successfully saved his passengers when the brakes failed and he lost control of the vehicle. To prevent a major accident, Jamaludheen steered the bus into a nearby compound wall, bringing it to a stop. The driver, a native of Pandikkad, acted bravely and quickly to prevent harm to the passengers.

The brake of the KSRTC bus failed when it reached Government College in Mananthavady on Tuesday at around 2.30 pm. The bus was heading from Sulthan Bathery to Mananthavady. As soon as Jamaludheen knew about the issue, he gave directions to other vehicles approaching from opposite direction and safely steered the bus near a wall. No passengers were injured in the incident. The bus had nearly 20 passengers.

The driver said that he did not inform the conductor and passengers regarding the brake failure to avoid a panic situation. Instead, he warned the vehicles coming from the opposite direction by waving at them and flashing lights. Another KSRTC bus had stopped after seeing Jamaludheen show a warning to the vehicles.
