KSRTC accounts manager transferred after MD’s corruption allegation
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) accounts manager K. M. Sreekumar has been transferred to Ernakulam as a zone administration officer.
KSRTC managing director Biju Prabhakar had raised corruption allegations against Sreekumar. Action was taken against Sreekumar over Rs 100 crore going missing from KSRTC during 2012-15. While addressing a press conference on Saturday, Biju Prabhakar had stated that action will be taken.
The KSRTC MD had also stated that action will be taken against Vigilance executive director P. M. Sharaf, who reinstated a KSRTC employee who was remanded in a POCSO case.
A huge protest was staged by KSRTC employees against Biju Prabhakar, over his remarks against them.
A protest march led by TDF, a part of Congress’ INTUC, was taken out to the KSRTC chief office in Kizhakkekotta from Thampanoor. When police stopped the march a sit-in protest was staged in front of the office. The protestors demanded a public apology from Biju Prabhakar.
