Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state committee on Wednesday openly criticized Electricity Minister K Krishnankutty and the KSEB chairman B Ashok over the ongoing protest of the employees. Some leaders alleged that the minister and the chairman are making decisions aiming at corruption.

Leaders representing the trade unions alleged that KSEB is taking a stand against the ongoing protest. They pointed out that this attitude from the board comes amidst LDF having a policy of favouring strikes. Therefore, they asked the party and the state government to intervene so as to resolve the crisis.

Palakkad District Secretary EN Suresh Babu and others pointed out that decisions taken in KSEB aim at corruption. It was alleged that KSEB is taking a vengeful stand against the officers with the support of the electricity minister for pointing out the corruption.

Meantime, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that it is not right to compare the situation in KSEB with KSRTC. He pointed out that the problems in KSRTC have a lot to do with the increase and fluctuations in the fuel price in the market. Therefore, it is impossible to solve the issues in KSRTC swiftly. He noted that he is not going to make a comparison between K Krishankutty and Transport Minister Antony Raju. However, the state government will immediately intervene to solve the issue in KSEB, he added.
