Kochi: A meeting of Power Minister with the Officers’ Association to settle the ongoing protests in the Kerala State Electricity Board has been reportedly scheduled on May 5 in Thiruvananthapuram.

The decision to conduct a meeting over protests came up at the conference headed by K Krishnankutty with the Officers’ Association president MG Suresh Kumar and general secretary B Harikumar at Ernakulam guest house on Friday.

The officers who got transferred as part of the protest will take charge at the new place on Saturday. They had already submitted their reply to the charge sheet.

The leaders of the association Jasmine Banu, MG Suresh Kumar and Harikumar were transferred to Seethathode, Perinthalmanna and Palakkad respectively. The department had also halted the promotion of Harikumar.

Though the minister informed that no decisions over compromises have been taken, it has been hinted that a settlement over revoking transfers, favourable decision on restraining promotion and assurance that no further actions would be taken against the members of the association had already been sorted out at the meeting at the guest house.
