KSEB among 4 companies shortlisted for Udupi-Kerala 400 KV electric line tender
Kannur: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is among the four companies which submitted tender for the construction of Udupi-Kerala 400 KV electric line. Tender of corporate firms including Adani and Tata were rejected.
Power Grid Corporation of India, L&T and Sterlite Grid are the other companies listed along with KSEB.
Udupi Power Corporation Limited will supply power for the project.
Power Grid Corporation is a central public sector firm. L&T and Sterlite Grid are private companies. The authority will select the best company to execute the project on the basis of the most affordable tender through reverse bidding.
The project tender will include 400 KV line extension and sub-station construction etc. After the completion of the project, the company will be allowed to manage the project for lease during a fixed period. In this period, the company will be empowered to access the income from the electric project.
Through Udupi-Kerala 400 KV project, Kerala aims to receive 100 MW in the intial phase.
