New Delhi: CPM MP AM Ariff raised the issues related to the K-Rail project in Lok Sabha. He alleged that Central Government denied funds for the K-Rail project and also interrupted the developmental projects of the state.Addressing the Lok Sabha here on Wednesday, the Kerala MP raised a sharp criticism against the centre.

"Earlier, the central government had approved the semi-high speed railway line from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod which is known as the K-Rail project. Later, the centre did a volte-face and refused to release funds for Kerala. There is no doubt that the centre wanted to help some unholy alliance by making this move," he added.

With the execution of the K-Rail project, travel time from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram will be reduced to four hours, then it would benefit the people, he pointed out.

Ariff also accused the BJP-led central government of delaying Kerala's other development activities, including the Sabarimala Airport project and the Thiruvananthapuram-Chengannur suburban rail project.
