KR Meera resigns post at MG varsity Board of Studies
Kozhikode: Writer KR Meera stated that she has resigned from her position at MG University’s Board of Studies even though she had neither applied nor was notified about her appointment. She also wrote in her Facebook post that she has sent email regarding this and will not make any further comments on this topic.
She added that this was because she did not have time for any controversies as she is busy with her latest novel ‘Communist Grandmother’, which will be published by the end of the year. From the time she started writing, she had decided of not accepting any appointments from either the state or the central government.
There were allegations against KR Meera’s appointment to the Board of Studies of MG University’s School of Letters. The allegation was that KR Meera’s name was selected after striking down the names of candidates nominated by an expert committee. It is in this context KR Meera came out with her response.
