Rejig can take place; need not wait for KPCC president’s appointment, informs AICC

Thiruvananthapuram: All India Congress Committee (AICC) has given nod to Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) to go ahead with the reorganisation and informed that it doesn’t have to wait till the appointment of the KPCC president.

With the nod from the central leadership, KPCC now can reorganise roles like KPCC office-bearers and for DCC, block and unit levels.

The objective is to complete the revamp process by March. It was in this regard that KPCC had selected members well in advance. Similarly, a resolution giving the Congress president the power to elect the KPCC president was passed.

The state leadership had intimated the high command about reorganisation after veteran Mallikarjun Kharge became the Congress president. As a result, the appointment of KPCC president is expected soon.

The formation of committees at state and district levels will kick-off the reorganisation process. These committees will recommend new office-bearers.

The coming days will witness insiders influence leadership positions in state leg.
